It seems that a good environment should bring back a powerful feeling or strong memory. Here, I illustrate one of my favorite activities from childhood, forest exploration.

With the reduced height of the camera I hope to focus the scene, while adopting the point of view of a young observer. The use of parallax shaders, as well as sub-surface scattering, helped me pack detail into a scene in which each mesh would need limited geometry.

The use of post-processing effects became crucial to this scene. Motion blur and depth of field helped border the elements, and let me shed complexity in background meshes. Through the balanced use of different techniques, I aimed to create a detailed scene that we may rarely take time to see.
